Artist Statement
My abstract paintings celebrate the beauty of imperfection, a theme woven through both nature and the human experience. Drawing inspiration from nature's vibrant colours, rich textures, and organic forms, I craft unique, energetic pieces through an intuitive process.
For me, the act of creation is as significant as the finished artwork. I thrive on experimentation, using unconventional tools and methods. This approach embodies my belief in the power of imperfection and the serendipitous discoveries that emerge from unexpected moments.
Bio
Born in Scotland in 1964, Scott Forrest found his way to art later in life, emerging from a challenging personal period that served as a catalyst for change, healing and self-discovery. Following the completion of Nicholas Wiltons’s Creative Visionary Program in 2021, Scott became aware of why he needed to paint and with the knowledge and techniques learned from the program he has developed a sustainable practice and is pushing his art.
His artistic journey began alongside his embrace of yoga, with both practices now deeply intertwined. Alongside teaching yoga, Scott draws on ancient philosophies to infuse his abstract paintings with themes of imperfection, resilience, and inner peace. His yoga practice informs his artistic process, emphasizing mindfulness, balance, harmony, and self-expression, qualities that shine through in his work.
